This broken feather arrow paper piece block an original pattern I drafted up recently to accompany my lone star medallion quilt. It uses scraps from five different prints for the broken feathers plus a background and fabric for the arrow’s shaft and tip.

One of the reasons I felt compelled to design yet another paper piece arrow is I really wanted to add specific details like the breaks between colors in the fletching (feather) as well as a little extra detail that rounds the back of the tip just a smidge.

The block is 11 x 4.5″ unfinished and includes a bit of sashing around the block so you could even trim down the height or add length by extending the shaft piece. The block uses 4 paper piece templates per arrow and is an advanced paper piece.
